Chelation Therapy

Chelation therapy is used to treat heavy-metal poisoning by lead, cadmium, aluminum, mercury, arsenic, and even iron. It also has been proven to dramatically reduce calcium in blood vessel which causes artery disease.
Chelation therapy uses special drugs that bind to metals in your blood. The chelation medication is administered  through an intravenous (IV) tube in your arm. Once the drug has attached to the metal, your body removes them both through urination.

EDTA binds trace elements like iron, which are known initiators of “free radical reactions”. These free radical reactions are thought to be the chemical origin of atherosclerosis, cancer and inflammations. In general, that I thought to be the cause of aging and it’s concomitant degenerative processes.

After the appropriate blood screening tests for various toxins, IV chelation therapy is initiated by using EDTA IV infusion along with vitamin C, B complex, magnesium and specific homeopathic agents to improve health.
Because heavy metals are removed from the body and circulation is improved many people report that they have greatly increased energy, improved clarity of thinking, and better exercise tolerance. Blood-pressure also usually improves as does the general circulation.

Heavy metals can accumulate in the tissues of the body.

These poisonous metals disrupt the normal biochemical process. Removal of these heavy metals with chelation therapy is probably a major mechanism by which chelation normalizes biochemical activity thereby improving circulation and energy.

5 Benefits of Chelation Therapy

  • Might improve Heart Health

Although ongoing research is still underway, some alternatives healthcare providers use chelation therapy to treat coronary artery disease. EDTA binds with calcium within the arteries helping to reduce plaque build-up and deposits that restrict blood flow.

  • Acts Like an Antioxidant

EDTA acts similarly to antioxidants. It helps reduce inflammation, fighting free radical damage and removing metals that cause the foundation of chronic disease development.

  • Lowers Pain & Swelling

Chelation therapy targets inflammation, which is the root of most disease including arthritis and many autoimmune diseases. Chelation therapy may offer an alternative to ongoing medication as treatment for chronic pain.

  • Can Help Fight Cognitive Disorders

There is evidence that chelation therapy can successfully treat cognitive disorders like Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. While it isn't clear which mechanisms in EDTA that helps resolve these problems, there seems to be a tie between heavy metal toxicity including high levels of lead or mercury in the blood and medical disorders that affect the brain, memory and learning.

  • Helps Lower Risk for Learning Disabilities

Many practitioners are now looking to alternative treatment methods to control symptoms of cognitive disorders, including some like chelation therapy that target heavy metal poisoning.

How Chelation Therapy is Performed

  • Chelation therapy is not covered by most insurance plans.
  • Chelation therapy sessions take several hours to complete. Most patients need five to thirty treatments for best results.
  • Each treatment involves an IV to administer liquid EDTA via a vein located in the hand or arm.
  • The procedure typically isn't painful, but some patients feel burning, redness or swelling at the IV injection site.
